UEFA and FFA Pro licence qualified, Mikulski, who originally hails from Poland, comes to the Club with more than 30 years coaching experience in Poland, Germany, Thailand and Australia.


Prior to commencing his coaching career, Mikulski had a stellar career with 14 times Polish Champions, Ruch Chorzów, scoring 60 goals in 260 games over nine years, which saw him capped 21 times as a youth international.  Mikulski commenced his coaching career in Australia before returning to his native Poland to take the reins at WKS Wawel Krakow before moving into the Polish Ekstraklasa achieving a Polish Cup win with Polonia Warszawa FC and being named Polish Coach of the Year in 2002 with Pogon Szczecin.


“Albin was number one choice to head the Thunder Football Program, and we are delighted that he has chosen to relocate to Toowoomba to take up the role”, said Thunder Chairman Wade Eiser. “Albin will not only head Thunder’s Technical Department, he will be a resource for all clubs associated with our Club. He brings a proven, positive culture. He understands the game at the professional level and has great vision”.


Mikulski was most recently involved with the football program at the prestigious Knox Grammar School in Sydney and has relocated to Toowoomba with his family. 


Eiser said “He has a clear vision and philosophy on player development, and comes highly recommended by Sydney FC Coach Graham Arnold and former FFA Technical Director Han Berger.  He will be an asset to our Coaches and Players, and we look forward to our continued work supporting the learning of coaches across the South West region.”
